HYDATID CYSTS

Hydatid cysts are parasitic infection caused by Echinococcus species, transmitted by sheep and dogs, therefore are classically seen in countries with large farming communities. This used to be common in New Zealand but less so nowadays. Some are observed while others can be treated with anti-parasitic drugs, or surgery.
